Today I quit one of my jobs

Monday | June 19, 2017

Today I quit ONE of my jobs.  I LOVED this job.  This job defined a large part of who The Chef Kimihou is.  This job gave me life!  The energy I absorbed from this job was amazing and hard to compete with.  But today, I quit.  Without hesitation, I sent in my resignation.  I resigned from being a Wilton Cake Decorating Instructor.

I resigned from being a Wilton Cake Decorating Instructor.

This job gave me purpose.  it afforded me the opportunity to meet new people and educate a new generation of cake decorators.  I have met so many people over the course of the past 4 years as I was an instructor in multiple locations.  I have inspired and encouraged. I have found my purpose and met my destiny in this position.

My Life is Changing

My son is a budding actor in Atlanta’s booming talent scene.  My daughter begins modeling classes in a week.  My husband is preparing to begin his doctorate degree.  Being a Pastry Chef and owner of Adonai Desserts Atlanta has allowed me a unique opportunity to be a work from home mom.  But if I’m truly honest with you, the cost of having two ultra-talented kids is more than a few dozen cupcakes.  We are not only changing we are moving.  A new home, new neighborhood, new side of town.

What’s next?

I know that shutting down my old website for my students was a big deal.  I needed to focus more on blogging successfully in addition to restructuring my life.  I earned my degree as a Pastry Chef and I hope to continue to share that love with other cake and cookie artist in the future, just on my own time.  I plan to focus on my entrepreneurship courses and prep for a new school year with the kids.

I have wrestled with this decision for months.  As the Lord is opening door after door for my son’s career my prayer was that God would order my steps.  I believe this is part of His perfect will and plan for my life.  I have ministered to others as an instructor and now my first ministry (being a mother) is taking the reigns.

Today I quit ONE of my jobs and I’m not sad I did.
